Stainless steel is a versatile material consisting of a steel alloy and a small percentage of chromium - the addition of chromium adds to the material's resistance to corrosion, a characteristic which has earned stainless steel its name. Stainless steel material is resistant to corrosion, oxidation, and reactivity to other metals to which it comes in contact, so it is commonly used in a wide range of applications, especially in pipe fabrication. Based on the use of steel pipes directly on what we will divide and use each specific type.
1. Stainless steel pipe
Steel pipes tend to differentiate based on function. In addition to these grades, stainless steel pipes are also differentiated by type and grade. For pipe and pipe applications 304 stainless steel pipe type is a popular choice because it has high chemical resistance and good corrosion resistance. However, the 304 stainless steel material is not compatible with applications where temperatures are between 800 and 1640 degrees Fahrenheit (F) because it is susceptible to carbide precipitation, a result of the restriction of zero carbon content, 08 percent of matter. Type 304L stainless steel has solved this problem because it has a lower carbon content limit, and is therefore weldable and used in higher temperature applications.
2. Stainless steel pipe for corrosion resistance
This synthetic steel is suitable for applications where higher corrosion resistance than other characteristics are required. In other words, its biggest advantage is corrosion resistance. Ferrite or martensitic steels (the one made of the most chromium) are produced for heat treatment or steel annealing. Austenitic stainless steels (those with a high chromium and nickel content) are more resistant to corrosion and can be used under the same general conditions as ferrite and martensitic types.
3. Stainless steel pressure hose
This stainless steel tube is made from solid chromium or a combination of chromium and nickel. Stainless steel pressure pipes include seamless and welded welded tubes, thermoelectric welded tubes for high pressure applications, large diameter welded tubes for corrosive or high temperature applications, and steel pipes ferritic and austenitic stainless steel seamlessly welded and welded.
4.High sanitary stainless steel pipes (used in food technology)
For applications where the stainless steel pipe or pipe has to come into contact with food and other sensitive products, hygiene is a high priority. Stainless steel sanitary hose is used in such applications because it is highly corrosion resistant, does not tarnish and is easy to keep clean and is easy to clean after use. For specific applications different tolerances can be obtained. The most commonly used type for these applications is ASTMA270.
5. Stainless steel pipe for mechanical use
In applications such as cylinders, bearings, and other hollow parts, stainless steel mechanical pipes are often used. Steel pipes can be manipulated to have a variety of cross-sectional shapes, such as squares and rectangles, in addition to the more traditional round tube cross-section. Typically, grades ASTMA 511 and A554 are used for mechanical hose applications.
6. Hydraulic hose for aircraft
In special aircraft applications, chromium and nickel stainless steels are used because of their heat and corrosion resistance. Found in applications that require high strength stainless steel pipes that can work hardened or welded, although hard work pieces should not be used with certain types of corrosive. Low carbon stainless steel grades are a popular choice for welded parts.
For applications requiring larger size seamless and welded pipes (outside diameter 1.6 to 125 mm), aircraft structural pipes are used - this stainless steel is manufactured according to Specification. Aviation Specifications (AMS) or Military Specifications (MIL Specs).
A type of aircraft tube, used in aerospace applications such as fuel injection flow and hydraulic systems, and tends to be small. It is usually manufactured from 304 or 304 L stainless steel because the steel has high strength, corrosion resistance and ductility.
